So I'm back again with Honey's soft poop issue. She's been great for ages now, and I today it returned slightly (no where near as bad as it was previously though). Every night she's been having a slice of cucumber with her pro-biotic on it, and this is helping me get the pro-biotic in her. I know this isn't a great diet, (she's obviously eating her hay and pellets too) so I tried introducing a small amount of various veggies to her (on multiple occassions) and every time, the following day, she has softer poops again... had she just developed a very sensitive gut to the point she can't tolerate any other veggies?

Also just to not when I say small pieces of veggies I'm literally giving her maybe like 1cm length piece of red pepper for example. Such tiny amounts it's unreal, and they just don't agree with her.

Has anyone else every had a piggy that cant tolerate veggies?

I don't really know what to do next...

Hi! Your issue is extreme, but I have had an elderly piggy with an increasingly tender digestion and mild bloating issues during the last two years of her life.

You may need to make some kind of compromise. Have you tried fibreplex and grain-free, timothy based pellets? That can both help. the judgement is still out on how effective standard probiotics are.

Thank you for your response. And that's kind of reassuring to hear about your piggy. She was on fibreplex for a short while post-op but after stopping this along with other things, her poops normalised and so I just didn't go back to it. And all my pigs are on selective science grain free (I believe that's what it's called) but yes they are grain free and Timothy hay based.

I feel the pro-biotics aided her poops in normalising but unsure if this was a simple coniscidence, but seeing the struggle I had getting them from soft pâté I didn't really wanna risk stopping giving it to her.

I would try and go back to the fibreplex and see whether that can help with your issue. At this stage all you can do is try and see what works and what not. You might want to add some extra vitamin C to the diet if your veg intake is minimal. Please do not add it to the water bottle.

Okay thank you, and I'm using Pro-C probiotics, I thought this had additional vitamin C? Have I got this wrong? And no don't worry, I wouldn't add it to the water 😊
