Hello, I am a first time guinea pigs owner and I've had my boys for about a month and a half now. I try to give them a nice wide range of veggies that I can alternate so they don't get the same thing everyday. However I have read that you should have a veggie that can be fed everyday. I know yellow or green bell pepper is one of them but my boys aren't overly keen on it. Is leafy greens one of them? What other options are there? Could you please also specify how much of it they could have per day.

Thank you :)

Hi, I tend to feed my guinea pigs a wide range of vegetables rather than one or two.
My guinea pigs like: pepper, tomato, lettuce, carrot, cucumber. They can eat cabbage, however you shouldn’t feed them too much as it can give them bloat.

This is my first time posting a thread and I just realized I've managed to post my thread to the introducing yourself section not the food one 😬. Is this going to be a problem or can I move it? Sorry for the kinda off topic question..

So do you alternate all of these or do you feed pepper everyday and alternate the rest?
I don’t really feed them one particular vegetable every day, however they have certain vegetables more often: pepper, carrots, lettuce etc

Have a look at the Diet Guide in the Guinea Pig Guides section of the website. There is very good information based on the knowledge and expertise of a range of very experienced members.

Thank you, I'll have a look now. I want to have as much knowledge as possible so my boys are very happy
