Hi,

I've had my pigs around a week now. Just wondered how much veg they need daily? I've been giving them quite a bit compared to my friend...

It is best to feed twice a day?

Do you have examples of what you feed each meal?

usually around a cup full per pig per day is recommended. it depends on the piggies but no more than that i'd think.

you can feed once a day, or split it and feed twice. whatever suits you and your piggies the best.

what veggies did they come to you already used to? i'd stick with that for the moment whilst they settle in (as moving home can be stressful) and then gradually introduce other things slowly until you've built up a nice selection. maybe list what you feed now and hopefully we can advise on which are suitable as daily foods and which are best fed more sparingly :)

Mine have a heart shaped bowl and they get as much veg as I can't fit in it which I guess is about 2 cups. That's for 2 piggies :)
Their favourites are: lettuce, coriander, peppers (any colour), broccoli and cucumber but they eat everything I give them :D

I made a thread about what they eat every day if you want to know the details :)

I feed them a 2 handfuls of the guinea pig food they came with.
When I got them, they came with a bowl with carrots and apples in.

I've been giving them 2 or 3 of the following of:
Greens
Carrots (occasionally)
Broccoli
Kale
Apples (occasionally)
Melon
Red Bell Pepper
Cucumber
