While I'm on worrying about one of my young piggies (please see thread in health section) it got me to question what veggies I'm giving them. After googling for around 4 hours last night I've notice there's a lot of conflicting advice out there. So just to be on the safe side. Can any of you please just send me a list of veggies that I can feed my piggies every day. Then I can add the odd treat and mix it up abit.

I really need a base to work with as I've just been guessing at the moment. For example I've been giving them spinach for vit c but then one article said not to feed spinach. So I just need and everyday daily base.

Please please help. I want to do the very best espesh because they are quite young x

Green pepper, Lettuce (little gem is great and generally well received), cucumber (if they won't eat regular cucumber, try them with baby cucumber, it's what I did for my last pair and they ate regular cucumber fine after a bit), coriander/cilantro (most people swear by it...Comet acted like it was poison).

Romaine lettuce can be given daily. Kale, cucumber, carrots can be given a couple of times a week, which will be something different for them.
Cilantro, parsley, basil, dandelion, and other herbs can be given everyday.
Hay should be given without interruption, and mine get Oxbow pallets everyday also.

Above is what I give to my Finn and Lara.

Daily: my two get a mixture of lettuce leaves, some red, some green (never give iceberg lettuce) and then some pepper of varying colours (whatever I have got in) some cucumber and some herbs (don’t give parsley every day, it has higher levels of calcium).
they then occasionally get a bit of carrot, some corn leaves, a small amount of spring greens or broccoli stalks. Courgette (although they have now decided that they don’t really like it), some rocket

Does this look ok? I like to have a plan lol

Daily: coriander sprigs, celery leaves and a stick chopped up small (between 2), 2-3 green beans, little gem lettuce, spring greens, slice of bell pepper any colour, few basil leaves, marigold leaves.

2-3 times a week: kale, spinach, parsley, small piece of carrot.

Hi @Natasha3589
Sorry me again.
Here's a link to Wiebke's advice about daily food (I hope it is attached if not it is on the permanent list shown on the Food threads)
There is even a photo included showing the size of vegetables that is suitable for feeding guinea pigs.
Nope sorry cannot attach the link!
But it is the 3rd one down on the permanent Thread titles under the Food heading.
I hope this is helpful to you.
Val x

We feed ours this roughly

Morning:
Cucumber -1.5 cm x 2cm chunks (twice)
Celery - 1 stick between 3 chopped up small
1/6th of Red/Green/Yellow Bell Pepper (de-seeded)

Evening:
Cucumber 1.5 cm x 2cm chunks (twice)
Two Little Gem Lettuce leaves or 10 sprigs Coriander. Twice a week we will swap in cabbage or parsley

We also add in to the above diet carrot, sweet potato, celery leaves, grean beans and a few other things occasionally

But by no means am I any expert on food here, some folks on the forum are really clued up... so pick up advise where you can.
