I have been trying to switch to low calcium veggies for my piggie. I've tried cucumber and radicchio but he refuses to eat them. I might try tomatoes but I doubt he will like it since a while back I tried. What other veggies are there that are low in calcium?

There are a large variety of veggies which can safely be fed daily - lettuce, cucumber, bell pepper. Coriander, green beans. There are many other veggies which are also safe.
High calcium veggies - parsley, spinach, and kale - one type, once per week only and keep pellets limited and water filtered. Pellets and water contribute most calcium to the diet, not the veg.

Tomatoes are acidic (can cause lip sores) so are considered more of an occasional treat.

You've received great advice from Piggies&buns. One other thought...you mentioned your piggies won't eat cucumber. How many times have you tried? I ask because it can take a bunch of tries to get them to taste new veg. Something they refuse initially, they may be willing to eat down the road.

:agr: When I got my rescue piggies we were told they didn't like bell pepper, I've persevered and they love pepper now- took a few months though!

I agree, when I got Hector (a rescue) he really didn’t like much veggies at all only carrot and lettuce. he now eats cucumber and peppers, in fact everything. Just keep offering it first, see if they eat it, if not then offer something that they will eat

The first time I gave cucumber to him he ate it. So I've given it to him for this past week and he won't even touch it.

Piggies can be fussy.
The food that was yesterday’s favourite is now :vom:

My Priscilla has just decided, after over 2 years, that she loves lambs lettuce.
Perseverance is key.

In fact piggies are just like children aren't they? Keep feeding them what you want them to eat and they come round eventually and realise you're not trying to poison them and it's all rather good stuff!

I agree with Merab's. Perseverance is key. Does your piggie have a friend? They really do need a companion guinea pig or they can get depressed or even sick. Plus, they are sometimes better with eating veg if they see another piggie eating it.
