Hi, I’m planning to build a 2x6 foot cage for my hamster pretty soon, because right now he’s living in a 30 gallon tank and I’m pretty sure he’s a bit lethargic since there’s like nothing to do, but that’s not what this thread is about, maybe I can make another thread about that, actually, I probably will. Anyways, basically what I want to know is how much ventilation do guinea pigs need, would something kind of like an aquarium where it’s a box with an open top work? Or does it also need more than that. From what I’ve heard, that would not be enough ventilation, but I just wanted to make sure. Thanks I’m advance

Do you have two guinea pigs?

I would not keep guinea pigs into an aquarium.

Right now I don’t have any guinea pigs, like I said, when I build it it’s gonna be for my hamster, but I don’t plan on getting hamsters in the future, and I’m researching to see if I may be able to get guinea pigs in the future. Although I probably would get 2, MAAAAYBE 3, maybe, but probably 2

It would need to be open. But as above I wouldn’t keep them in an aquarium. I don’t know much about aquariums but I don’t know if you can get one big enough. Sows need minimum 120x60cm (150x60cm better) while boars need 150x60cm although I would start at 180x60cm. Boars can only live in pairs.
