I was buying the piggies pellets on the hay experts site and noticed this, while Brambles EC has spread to her brain and possibly other organs, would this food be a good preventative towards keeping the others EC free? None of them show any symptoms of course, even Ebony who lives with her, nor should they as Brambles EC is currently dormant and I practice good hygiene between their cage and everyone elses homes.. But should it ever become an issue again, would this be helpful to have? Ive never seen it before so figured id ask if anyone has any experience using it.

It says:

' We have discussed the use of Verm-X directly with the manufacturer in regard to its effectiveness against Encephalitozoon cuniculi (EC). Verm-X works by creating an environment in the gut and digestive system which is toxic to parasites. If EC is present in the digestive system then Verm-X can be an effective control. However, EC can pass to other organs in the body (such as liver, kidney and brain), so Verm-X will not be effective in those circumstances. As EC can be ingested through EC spores, Verm-X can be seen to be an effective partial preventative - though it cannot be claimed to be 100% effective.'

I decided to buy some in the end, worth trying! Although I plan to have Bramble taken in for a blood test this year when it warms up a bit to confirm/rule out EC once and for all.
