I currently have a year old neutered male (Zazu) and a female of roughly the same age (Peaches). I also have 2 (almost) seven week old girls and one (almost) seven week old boy. The 7 week old babies are only here until around 15th November. I used to have them housed separately as two groups. A boy group and a girl group. However I had to put Peaches in with Zazu just over a week ago as she seemed depressed and wasn’t moving around much. As soon as she went in with Zazu she was running around and back to her old self. However this left me with two girls and one boy that I needed to place. I kept the two girls together but the boy had to be on his own. Now he isn’t as active and spends the majority of his time in a hidey. I want to put him back with Zazu but they just fight non stop now - they used to get along really well before the changes. I have a 4x5 C&C which I can divide into two sections (or possibly 3). I don’t know how to arrange them into groups where everyone is happy. Will the 7 week boy be fine on his own until he goes to a new home?
Sorry for the long post!

Hi!

You either have to keep your little boy on his own for the next 10 days or separate Zazu and Peaches again and put all the girls together, as well as the two boys - however I doubt that Zazu is going happily back to a bachelor status after having been with a very happy Peaches. You can keep the little boy next door to the little girls' cage for interaction and stimulation through the bars, as long as you make absolutely sure that he cannot get into their cage.

Thank you for the advice! I rearranged the cage and added a little extension so that the boy on his own could see everyone. I also put extra security up so that he couldn’t get into either cage. It’s not quite finished yet, I’ve still got hay trays and I need to make a final decision of who gets which hideys but this is the layout:

Just don't put any hideys against the grids to allow him to climb over. Determined boars can be extremely persistent. From my own experience (I have only neutered boars in this house, for that reason), please tie all grids of the boys' cage together with string at the top and the bottom so he cannot rattle them apart and squeeze through. The rattling and biting should calm down after a day or two when he cannot break through.

Unfortunately he doesn’t have a home yet. Even if he gets on well with the piggy coming to visit it still won’t be until Monday at the soonest that he could go, as the person coming to see him only gets back on the island on Sunday.

What a pity! Could have solved your problem somewhat.xx

I’m happy to hold onto him as long as needed I just feel sorry for the little guy! He must feel a bit left out from the other 4.
