Very Cold Night Ahead - Please make sure that your piggies are safe!

For the first year ever all my piggies are inside in the piggie room.I'm so excited that i do not have to go out to hutches when its cold and wet !I'm aware not everyone can do this, the guides are invaluable.if aanyone wants any snugglesafes ive 15 that i do not need, and are only a year old.

Yes it's pretty nippy out tonight. I went out to the outbuilding to tuck up my piggies for the night, found them both snuggled together under the hay in the sleeping area, the first time they've done that. I guess there's less cold air in the closed off bit, even with the plastic raincover down. They've got 3 snugglesafes in that top level including one in the sleeping area under a big pile of hay. Hope it's all enough to keep them sufficiently warm, I really don't want to have to leave the electric radiator on all night ...

I’m piling in mountains of hay to help keep mine warm. I also have towels pegged around the outside of the cage.
May invest in a small heater for their room although the heating is set at a constant 17 degrees.
It’s finding the balance between keeping the house warm enough for the piggies but the bills affordable.

This is the bit I struggle with, especially with an ancient archaic heating system and a next to useless thermostat, but it's needs must - so if I have to have the heating turn on twice overnight for around an hour each time, then that's what I have to do.

And maybe just ignore my bank balance in the process, hah.
