I am very excited to announce that Rio and Harvey are getting a new friend. Since my elderly girl Sherbert died I've been very worried that if anything happened to Rio or Harvey that the other one would be left on their own, especially since Rio is getting on a bit now (though she doesn't act like it). I've been in touch with a rescue in my area that has some baby girls available, I have a house check on Sunday then early next week I've got a piggy date. :D It's worked out perfectly as both me and my boyfriend have next week off, and my birthday is on monday so getting a new pig will be the perfect birthday treat.
Harvey is probably going to explode with excitement having another girl around (as long as he doesn't get over excited and ninja kick them in the face like he did when I introduced him to Rio and Sherbert) and Rio is going to love having a baby at the bottom of the pecking order she can boss around.

:gp:Awesome!:tu:
I would love to see some pictures when you get your new piggie, I bet she's gorgeous!:luv:

Posted girl power by accident by the way!:doh:

Don't worry I will post loads of pics once I've got her.

Haha I think my piggy Rio would approve of the girl power message. She's not a fan of being lowest in the pecking order.

How exciting!!
I hope all goes well I'm sure it will! Can't wait to see pics of your new babies hopefully not ninja kicked :D xx
Ps happy birthday for Monday :cake:

I do have a couple questions about how best to get them home. As they will be introduced at the rescue should I take them home in separate carry cages and have to start the introduction process from scratch or keep them together for the journey which is about half an hour? I have a spare 80cm cage that could fit on the back seat of the car for transportation but I'm worried they wont have enough space to get away from each other.

I recently took my Oakley to a boar date where he met Ollie his forever friend, I took a large cat carrier with me and they both went into that for the journey home with plenty of hay and cucumber. They managed fine in that even though it was a hot day and an hour and a half journey xx

Thanks for the reply, it's very reassuring. I guess I can always bring a spare carrier if they do need to be split up. I'm so nervous during bonding I can't imagine spending half an hour in a car not being able to separate them if they have a falling out.

Had my home check today and on tuesday I will be going to have a piggy date. :D There's a group of three potential girls roughly 3 months old so hopefully Rio and Harvey will get along with at least one of them. Wish me luck.

Hooray!:yahoo:
Good luck for Tuesday, I hope you find your perfect piggies.
