So the piggies have decided they don't like capsicum anymore, I've been seeing this happen for a week now so have been switching the colour and how I cut the capsicum but last night they decided enough was enough. Whyyyyyy piggies! So now I am concerned about their vit c consumption and am wondering what other veg has as much vit c as capsicum? I am hoping it's going to be like when they went off celery, they eat it again now that it's not be fed so frequently.

They'll go back on it again. We have too had to take a break from peppers every now and then... honestly little fussy piggies... They don't know how lucky they are....

I would love to try the piggies on grass but the gardener keeps spraying the lawn. They loooooove coriander though but they are strange little critters as they won't eat broccoli but will eat broccolini and they wont eat lebanese cucumber but they will eat the common variety. For me they are all the same thing just a different size lol.

there is a good chart on Guinea Lynx with all the vegs and their components. Vit C is high in parsley and spinach, but both are high in oxalate, therefore they are a bit dangerous. Kiwi has a lot of vit C, too, but it is a fruit and it has sugars... Normal grass have a lot of vit C and it has the best balance in other minerals. You can go out for a walk with a bag and a knife... maybe there is some good meadow, even in the park of your town...
And for being sure, buy vit C in drops. My piggies love it and when they heard the typical sound of me preparing the dose into the syringe, they move close to me extending their neck...
They eat also capsicum and a lot of grass... if the vit C were too much, it would eventually go out with the urine...

anyway, most pellets have supplement of vit C (firms say...). I don't use pellets or dry food, but if you feed your piggies with pellets, they have vitamins.

Oh yeah I forgot about the pellets, they love their pellets.

This is the supplement here people use:
CEBION_0.1_g_1_ml_drops_30ml_oral_drops_contain_vitamin_C_ascorbic_acid_for_babies_grande.webp
I copy the label:
CEBION 0.1 g / 1 ml drops 30ml oral drops contain vitamin C (ascorbic acid) for babies
Ingredients:
1 ml (approx. 20 drops) contains 100 mg of ascorbic acid (vitamin C)Action: Vitamin C increases iron absorption, inhibit the aging process - is an antioxidant, is irreplaceable in the process of regeneration of the body during weakening and colds - supports immune processes. She participates in the prevention of diseases caused by deficiency of vitamin C - mainly scurvy and its initial symptoms and Moeller-Barlow disease. Vitamin C is also involved in the synthesis of collagen, and at the same time maintain good condition of connective tissue and bone. The ingress of blood vessels. It is recommended, especially symptoms of deficiency manifesting: vascular fragility, bleeding, delayed wound healing, inflammation of the gums, the changes in the structure of bones and teeth. Vitamin C is also administered prophylactically to babies fed artificially. Usage: Infants given 5-8 drops per day (25-40 mg of vitamin C); young children - 10 drops per day (50 mg of vitamin C). Therapeutic - The above dosages should be applied two times a day.Take neat or in diluted form, eg. added to milk, juice or slurry.
______________
each drop contains 6mg of vit C. The daily amount for a guinea pig is 30-40mg/kg. As my piggies weigh 600-700g and eat peppers and fresh grass I give each piggie only 2 drops mixed with 3ml of water using a little syringe. In Italy Cebion 10ml costs 4-6€ depending on the chemist's (buying it online costs less) and for two piggies (2 drops) it lasts more than one month.
