Putt is really poorly ths morning, she is struggling to pass poo, there were only 5 poo's in overnight. She has passed 4 poo's times this morning but really is badly hunching and straining for ages trying to poo.
She is refusing food (only ate one parsley leaf for breakfast) She is now on Rach's lap, we have gave her some metacam and syringed her some water, she now appears to be heaving and is chewing constantly(not teeth chattering) She seems a little bloated and is in obvious dicomfort, am desperate for the vet to open at 8:45am. Please keep her in your thoughts..

Hugs to you both and wheeky hugs to Putt. it's not nice waiting for the vets. I hope she's ok.

x

So sorry you are ill Putt. Misty and I are thinking of you and your hooman slaves and sending you all gentle hugs.

x

Really sorry to read this, sending healing wheeky vibes xx

Can't believe I'm typing this, we had to help her on her way to the bridge. She's in her forever sleep. She was PTS and went peacefully.
We're both devastated, I keep expecting to see her, can't believe we have lost her after everything we've done for her, feel like i have let her down.

I'll post more later. Thank you for all your comments, they mean so much.
x

Huge hugs from us and the boys. It's horrid to not have them there but at least she isn't in pain anymore.

Sleep well Putt, you are back with Pitch and you will be loved and missed forever. Say hello to Merry for me. x

Huge hugs to you all from Rachel, Gill & the boys.

So sorry to hear about Putt, sitting here with lots of tears for her, she was such a special piggie. Sleep tight little girl and enjoy your time over the bridge with Pitch. Thinking of you both, sending lots of hugs to you x

Thank you. I know you shouldn't have a favourite but some just touch your heart completely. I can't describe how gentle and loving she was.

The vet we saw wasn't our normal one, but she was lovely. We don't know what was wrong with Putt. She was heaving and had clear fluid coming her mouth and was almost bringing it up like sick, which was very odd (guinea's can't be sick) Her teeth were fine, she was a little bloated. The only thing the vet could suggest was an xray. But she was in distress, wouldn't eat and heaving all the time. The vet examined her well and thought that one of her cysts had ruptured, this vet had seen her the previous week so could compare the difference in the way her tummy felt.

I couldn't bear the idea of leaving her there for an xray, in a lot of pain and in the distress she was in. Had the xray showed anything sinster the vets and ourselves were sure she wouldn't have made it through the operation. I guess I knew this morning when I got up that she wasn't right. She's been ill for nearly a year now and we always knew this day was going to arrive sooner than later.

We have just got some photo's, some parsley and wrapped her in a t-shirt, we are off down Mom and Dads to bury her next to her sister Pitch. I would imagine she's already cosied up to her at the bridge.

Very sorry for your loss - you really did all you could for Putt, rest well Putt. Both you mum and dad will miss you dearly.

I am so sorry to read this. We lost our little girl a year ago in very similar circumstances. You've done your very best for her. Sending you all good wishes and hugs. x

Oh no so sorry to hear of your loss and please don't feel like you have let her down, you did everything you could and in the end agreed not to cause her more pain and distress... that takes a whole lot of love to do that. RIP Putt, hope you and your sister are happily reunited.

Love and comfort wheeks from Kelly (wheeker in training), Bumble, Bea, Peter, Jemima and Buddy

aww sweets I'm so sorry you lost little Putt, rip baby, run free with your old buddy.

Thinking of you, take care xxxxx

I am so sorry to see you have such sad news! I've always said, all piggies are special, but some are just that extra bit special and really touch your heart, and when you lose one of the extra special ones it hits you so much harder.

To make the decision to let them go is the biggest act of love you can do for any pet, as although it breaks your heart you do what is best for them.

Sending love and hugs to you both! x

So sorry you have lost your Putt :( I know exactly how you feel, we had to have our Fudge PTS this morning 8...

Thanks to everyone on this thread, we have recently put a thread on rainbow bridge to her... The room feels so empty without our little girl there, struggling to get my head round never seeing her again, I keep going to talk to her.
Thanks so much for all your support, it means so much to us both.
