My two skinny girls have very red sore looking heels along with the bottom of their back feet. They look so red like they might start to bleed but they seem to walk normally and dont seem to notice. They are on fleece blanket bedding in a very large cage and i clean the cage blankets every other day. They use a litter box. The litter I use is something like care fresh but maybe a little rougher.

I am thinking I should change to the care fresh bedding for their litter box as it is a lot softer?

Gorgeous guineas do a couple of nice foot creams for piggies, perfect paws and t&m. Even in very clean cages some piggies have a habit of peeing and standing in it so a cream might protect the feet.

You could try a softer litter, but it all depends how much time they spend in there.

Is there at the point of almost bleeding it might be worth seeing a vet. I agree that GG have some lovely foot creams for them as well. Have you considered changing washing powder/gel as this might be whats irritating their little feeties.

I use newspaper and hay in the little trays for my pigs and non-bio with no softner to wash the fleece. Fleece washed every other day to get urine out.

They do sounds as if the vet needs to see their feet as they are almost bleeding and that must be sore. I'd get them seen.
