Has closed, 8...

due to my hubby now working in Birmingham 12 hour days, and with poss trips abroad, and having 4 kids under 9yrs its just not possable to have the time to do anymore, its also the trips to vets and dentals which would be impossable to do, with me not been able to drive, oh was always the one that took me places...

I am very, very gutted to have to do this but i have to think practical, i have 10 guineas of my own and another 2 coming to live with baby buff( going be neutered 2moz).

plus my skinny pigs and another 1 coming soon..

I just want to spend my time spoiling my guineas now as some of them are getting on my oldest 5yrs old..

I found myself getting really scared everytime a guinea pig came in incase it had dental problems as i knew we would have to go Stratford all the time to get them done with all the trips that was been done it was causing problems between me and my hubby, which has now sent his blood pressure back up...

15mths the rescue had been open and 133 guinea pigs have found wonderful loving new homes, i have also met some wonderful people over this time and found a fantastic forum and friends in you guys, and most of all gainned a lot of knowleage over this time...

I am still happy to help in advice, ie, health illness, pamper package which is offered on my website, and to point people to their nearest rescue...

Anyone who has a Direct Debit with the rescue, if you could cancel it that would be great:)

I will still be on here as much and will be glad to show off the pictures of my piggies including my new skinny when she comes...

a big thank you to everyone who has helped the rescue, in adopting, donations, with out people like yourselfs rescues dont have a chance at all...

love clairexxx

I'm sorry to hear your news Claire, it must of been a very hard decision to make but you have to do what is right for you and all the piggies.
133 is a lot of guinea pigs who will all have found loving homes thanks to you.
Wheeks and piggy kisses all round! x

Well done to you for all the fab work you've done and all the piggies saved and re-homed. This must have been heart-wrenching but it's the right decision to take care of your family first.
Hope that you'll still have to time to come on the forum as you have lots of experience and compassion to share.
Big hugs hun. xx

BIG HUG

I am very sorry to hear this, but without the active support of your hubby, it is really very difficult for you running your rescue without a car. Sadly, so many rescues that are coming in are in a bad state, and you have been confronted with some pretty horrible cases. You can be very proud of what you have achieved!

Hafina sends you big wheeks and says thank you very much for finding her a good home and lots of company!

It must have been a tough decision to make but it's for the best really. You make a massive difference to the lives of so many guinea pigs which is something to be very proud of :)

sorry to hear this Claire, you've done an amazing job and lots of piggies are now in loving new homes because of you :) you have to do whats right for you and your family, maybe one day you'll be in a position to start it up again :). Glad your not leaving the forum, looking forward to seeing pics of your new girl she arrives :) x

Am sorry you have to close your rescue but completely understand why. You should feel very proud of yourself for the difference you have made to those 133 piggies' lives :)

oh no, i am very sorry that you have to close it, but i am very glad that i adopted my piggys when i did, but if its best for you then i am happy for you, hugs! x

I just want to say that rehoming 133 piggies is an amazing achievement and they have all been given a second chance in life because of the work you put in. I totally understand why you need to close and i think its the right decision with your circumstances.
I'm sure if all the piggies you rehomed could speak they would say a big Thank You :)
x

So sorry you can't carry on ,it must be very hard especially when they have health problems, thats why I won't take on any more because I don't drive either and its a lot to ask when you have to keep travelling an hour away to see Paul.
You have done a great job just enjoy the pigs you have and try to relax a bit xx

I think you deserve a big Congratulations for all the 133 that have found new loving homes thanks to you. I'm sure they appreciate all your hard work.:)

I am very sorry that you have had to close and imagine it was a hard decision to make :( However, you must do what is right for you and your family. 133 guinea pigs is A LOT and you should be very proud of yourself for rehoming that many.
I personally could not run a rescue and I take my hat off and respect anyone who has gone ahead and done it.
xxxxxxxx

Just think about all the piggies you've been able to help - you've done really great and should be so proud to have been able to help so many. Sorry to hear you can no longer do it but you've done so well you should concentrate on that and the piggies you have.
Looking forward to seeing pics of your new one too :)
Hugs

133 piggies in new homes is something to be really proud of!

I'm sorry to hear your news! As long as we don't lose you from the forums (together with your good advice) you will continue to help many other piggies and their slaves. Hopefully you will find yourself in the position to start up again in the future and we will all be here to support you I'm sure!

i am sorry to hear that you have closed, but with family commitments, and with any rescue it takes alot of time, and it'll be lovely for you to spend some quaility time with your family and piggies! You have done such a wonderful selfless job :)

4 children under 9 and all those piggies? You must be some kind of superwoman!:))

Like others have said, 133 rescued pigs in 15 months is something to be exceptionally proud and happy about.:<>

I'm sure that in the future, when your life isn't as crazy you'll be able to re-start the rescue and keep making a difference.

Good luck x)x)

so sorry you've had to make that decision Claire, I know how hard you've worked with all those lovely rescue piggies.
Please let me know if I can help with anything and make sure you keep in touch, I still haven't seen those skinnys of yours yet! :))

Sorry to hear that claire but you are right in spoiling your own, it isn't through choice so don't feel bad. :)

Sorry to hear this Clare :(

You have to be amazingly proud of the 133 lives you've turned around though. Hats off to you hun xx

sorry to hear that you have now closed, but you have done a wonderful job, especially rehoming over a hundred guinea pigs x

Super Claire

They say God works in mysterious ways Claire and if you had never started your rescue we would not have met and seems we are best friends now that would have been really awful.
You have been a breath of fresh air in a world lacking concern for others i have witnessed first hand the love and devotion you have shown to all the piggies who came through the centre, and 133 have gone on to forever homes, one of them is my Cindy Princess who loves Oliver and is a joy to have.
So be happy and contented in what you have done and look forward to enjoying your piggies others out there will take up the gauntlet.
Love Hen xxxxxx

sorry there are no more recent photos my pc keeps telling me 'the usb device isn't recognised' when i try to connect. just go 2 fab piccies too :(

Claire what a shame but you've had such a good stint and rehomed lots of extremely lucky piggies. It makes sense that you concentrate on your own family a bit more and there's nothing stopping you in the future or just helping out with advice and support on here which you're very good at too! Hope the family time goes well -c x

thank you all, ive just been pmd some wonderful pictures of Jenson who is living with AP he really has come on loads it fab to see him, thank you beautifulmess for the pictures from you trip 2day x

I know it has been a tough decision for you but you do need to do what is best for you and your family hun.

Those piggies you have rehomed will always be grateful to you and you'll always have us xx>>>

Well done Claire for all your work in Rescue, I know all to well just how bloomin' hard and time consuming it is.

I admire anyone and everyone who does rescue work for these piggies. I will always always do rescue but at the moment have cut down what I take in as I am going abroad on holiday and will only take in emergencies.

Come November - its back up to speed again.

Well done in what you have achieved, I for one, am proud of you and anyone who does Rescue, whatever else they have going on in their private lives.

Love Helen.x
