I've told her to go - she's not having any of it! rolleyes

It's getting colder now so she'll have to come back in, but every time I go out to check she wakes up and eats more grass!

Not so gracefully, then...! Good on the old lady! Better take her in now, and place her on some cut grass.

I've actually popped her back in the sow pen for hay time, she's protected under her wooden bridge and seems happier with the other piggies around. I also wanted She-Ra to be able to say goodbye, but oddly it was Drusilla my other old lady who came over first... she's normally a right old grot-bag but she was very gentle with her and checked her over then settled down next to her to eat some hay

One of my most stroppy, independent girls stayed close by Lottie in the days before she died. She'd snuggle right up to her and follow her about, kept checking on her. Their buddies are often the first to know they're on their way out of this life, it is lovely to see those you thought paid no attention come up and keep them company.

Minx was all over Mischief when she was dying, so much that Missy was actually protesting!

True - the first two we lost were father and son and had a tremendous and nasty falling out a couple of months before we lost them both, but when Scamps was on his way, they snuggled quite companionably whereas before they would have flown for each other. I'm sure they know when they one is on the way out. It was heartbreaking to tell you the truth.

Glad Fizz is having some nice times with her old pals anyway :)

Thanks everyone. Somehow she made it through the night, I thought she was going to slip away at sunrise but she didn't... I've left her sleeping, almost in a coma I think now. I kept syringing her fluids but she really didn't want anything else so I didn't force her.

She's such a staunch old lady!

She wants to go her own way...
I keep thinking of her!

Awww little Fizz,

This happened to me once... I just picked some fresh grass to lay next to Polo so she could smell something nice in her last few hours.

Thinking of you and Fizz .... so hard for you, but what a wonderful age she's reached, bless her.

So sorry Sophie, she has been on this earth for alot of piggie years, hope she leaves peacefully. Sending you lots of ((Hugs)). They all pluck at your heart strings don't they. :(

Amazing trooper that she is, she's still with us! rolleyes She sleeps, almost flat out, then stirs and looks round for food... then sleeps again. She's very peaceful and I'm trying to do it her way and give her what she wants without force-feeding her. Tenacious old lady to have survived this long, I guess!

She certainly is! But she wouldn't have made it to her age without being tenacious...

How's Henry? Have you got a thread for him somewhere? I'm keeping thinking of you and sending my vibes!

BIG HUG
