Dear all fellow piggy lovers
I have a very sick male piggy called Blue. He has a breathing problem and has recently had an x ray which showed fluid in his lungs. He is up and down in regard to his eating. I read a post recently about a place called cavies Castle if anyone knows the of this place could they send me their address or telephone number. Blue is currently seeing Anne at Ewell vets. Really appreciate anyone's help. Thank you

Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear Blue is poorly.

Not sure who Castle Cavies are? Are they a vets?

Where do you live we may be able to recommend a cavy savy vet near you.

Has your vet tried a diuretic to remove the fluid? Am tagging in our h&I experts for further advice to discuss with vet @helen105281 @Wiebke @Adelle @Elwickcavies @furryfriends (TEAS) @Adelle

Hi!

Sorry, but I am not familiar with Cavies Castle. Anne at Ewell vets used to have a good reputation.
You can help us and any members local to you by adding your county to your details. Click on your username at the top, then got to personal details and scroll down to location. Thank you!
We have got a recommended vets locator on the top bar.

Is your boy on diuretics to help drain the fluid in the lungs and ease the breathing?

Are you syringe feeding? The need to breathe comes before the need to drink and only thirdly the need to eat. In combination with the antibiotics your boy is on - I assume? - that is a double whammy for the guts. Make sure that you add some probiotics to the syringe feed.

I can highly recommend Anne, and would expect her to be doing everything possible to cure your piggy.
If you wanted a second opinion CJ Hall and Seers Croft are the nearest recommended vets in the area, or heading into central London is an option.
