I am very worried about Josie. She is nearly 5 and a half years old and she was born here.

I have recently noticed that she has been drinking more. Perfectly ok otherwise, eating well and active. Although lost a little weight.

However, this evening she seems all "spaced out" and confused. She hasn't been drinking much and doesn't want to either but she is eating ok although less.

Josie has never been to the vet before, very robust and healthy.

I am worried!

could be bladder stones or water infection/kidney infection which could cause kidney damage and this would result in weight loss really need to take her the vets..also get her teeth checked the back aswell as the front

I'd take her to the vet hun
It will put your mind at rest and they will be able to give Josie a good check over

It does sound worrying with her seeming spaced out and confused, bless her. I'm sorry she's not quite right. An increased thirst often tends to be related to the kidneys in some way. Given her age, I would wonder if Josie didn't have something going on there, perhaps things are slowing down a bit for her.

Fingers crossed she's ok, do keep us updated. xx

Kidney problems are often associated with a change in the amount of water that a pig drinks, whether it be an increase or a decrease. I would have the thought that maybe she is starting to "wind down".
