I'm changing over to fleece when I've made up my new c&c run, this is what I'm thinking of ordering....

Any comments please would be appreciated, also is it best to wash the fleece before using it?

Thanks

Louise :))

how much is this fleecing per size? sorry Ebay is blocked for me at work

did you check out the site i get mine from www.profleece.co.uk

I found this to be cheaper than ebay when i got mine. I jut got 2 giant mats, i think 60inch by 40inch for £45

some also say its best to wash it before hand as it makes it more absorbant and some say its shrinks.

I didnt wash mine before hand nor did mine shrink when i did wash it!

yeah looked at profleece and it was about £90 for a 5m roll, on ebay its £50! quite a bargin I think

I thought it would need washing, I suppose it's like new towels, you always have to wash them first before using! lol

ah are you looking for a roll then? i didnt even look at roll prices so i would know. that is a good price though, i would go for it! how much is delivery though?

like i said, i didnt wash mine and its fine, but its up to individuals to what they would like to do! :)

This is the one I got:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VET-BED-NON-S...12|39:1|66:2|65:12&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14.l1318

except I got it in cream. I have some of the other one ( which I got on ebay too) and it is good but the one in the link is better quality, thicker pile and non slip underneath. Easier to cut to size too. Your choice of course!

You wont need to wash it prior to use, but when you do wash it do not put fabric softener in as it impedes the absorbancy. A lighter colour vet bed is best as it can show up any problems in urine etc better.

yeah a roll as i need quite a bit! Delivery is £7.50 and its next day.

go for it, i think that is a really good deal for a roll of it!

I like the idea of non slip, need to ask if they do it in a roll as I need over 7ft in length!

Pets at Home do a perfectly adequate (sp?) alternative which is cheaper, however it doesnt come on a roll

Hi, I used to following alternative to Vetbed ...

VET BED 'PROFLEECE' 5* GRADE - 60x40" - VETBED - 9 COLS

That's was the listing title on E-bay and it cost me £22 on buy-it-now. The seller was ...

http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/dogtastic_tamara0204/

She's a regular seller so I'm sure you'll still find stuff being listed.

I had bought original Vet Bed when one of my piggies was convalescing and this stuff compares very favourably but at a much reduced cost. It has had numerous washes, and while a fair amount of fluff came off to begin with (initially you might have to wipe out your door seal afterwards if you don't want the following wash covered in fluff ;)) it has maintained it's depth/density of pile really well. It also comes in a really good range of colours - I went for dark green which looks nice.

The seller was great, really helpful. The only problem I had was with the delivery carrier - even though I phoned them and told them to leave it in the shed, which they agreed too, they kept taking it back to the depot mallethead. It turns out they'll only leave it somewhere if the sender tells them to. The seller sorted it all out for me so I got it eventually. Just make sure you let her know at the time of ordering if you're not going to be in to take delivery and where they can leave it.

Overall I'd recommend fleece bedding, I'm sure you'll be happy with whichever one you go for.

Regards, Linden
