snowy has had his consultation with an exotics specialist vet. He is booked in to be neutered in four weeks time and I am already off work so I can look after him! I was going to book off extra leave anyway but I don't need to do that now.

The vet was happy with him, and his diet. I can get critical care and probiotics from him. Snowy weighs just over 500g and he wanted him to be a little bigger before the operation.

All in all I also have the all clear to move him in to the back room so he can have some very limited interaction through the bars with the girls. I have also been advised to take the girls in their carrier when Snowy goes in for his neutering opp.

All the best! it sounds like you have a piggy savvy vet there who knows the importance of companionship.
Here are our post-op care tips, which you may find helpful: Tips For Post-operative Care

Ah, that's great! In about 10 weeks time then he'll be a pampered piggy husboar :)

Wiebke, thank you for those tips. I am already reading them, and I will continue to do so as they are invaluable.

The vet is brilliant. He is very experienced with exotics. He was happy with Snowy's diet (Burgess mint pellets and unlimited Timothy hay) plus veg.

I am hoping that when the time is right, the bonding takes with the girlies and him. If Snowy is 3 months old (12 weeks or so) and the girlies are between 22-25 weeks, would Snowy be at the bottom of the heirarchy because he is the youngest?
