I use wood shavings aswell but he has nothing in his nose nothing atall its not watery

It could just be the wood shavings. How long has he sounded like this? Can you change his bedding to something else and see if he gets better? I changed from wood shavings to finacard and then to fleece. There is Carefresh too but it's expensive.

just yesterday i noticed this sound ill see today if he still does that sound ill change his bedding to fleece

Although Vets for Pets is not a recommended vet of the forum, it is better than not going to the vets. You said you was in Manchester so there should be some you can get to. I believe there is one at Trafford Park. Please mention, or ask your parent to mention on the phone, that it is an issue with breathing. They should then give you a same day appointment, as they treat breathing as a urgent matter. It should cost around £25 for consult and baytril if that is the route your vet decides to go down (that's how much it cost me at vets for pets- it is the only vets in my area which stays open late during the week and open all day Saturday etc).

Alternatively, there is a reported 'cavy savy' vets in Whalley Range. I haven't visited myself as it is a far journey but i hear good things!

I understand that it is difficult when it is your parents decision, but please try to stress the importance of animal care to them. All pets are important and need vet care- not just cats and dogs! Unfortunately vet costs are something you sign up to become a pet owner. Perhaps you could ask your dad to join the forum himself and we can offer him some advice?

I will try my best i hope that the thing i was hearing from him was just from the wood shavings and it just goes because i changed his bedding rn i made him everything new

I will try my best just atleast for a health check up which is not dear atall apparently is about 15-20 pounds so i will try to convince my dad to take him but like i said my dad is not one of them people you think he would never let him die

Have any of you been for a check up ?
You can see a nurse for a health check which is usually cheaper, but if they are concerned about your piggy they will recommend that you see the vet. If you explain before you see the vet that funding may be difficult they may arrange for you to pay in installments.
If you have a pet you must expect that they will need to see a vet at some point, so maybe save pocket or birthday money for an emergency fund in future?

My local vet surgery does a free 'introductory small pet check' where they do a general, basic health check and sex check. This is done by a nurse.

I've no experience personally of respiratory infections or similar in any of my guinea pigs, but your piggys eye area doesn't look healthy. I'd suggest you get your dad to act sooner rather than later on this as you obviously care a lot for your piggy.

It's great to hear that your dad also cares for your piggy. It is important to understand, and to explain to your dad, that as guinea pigs are prey animals they often hide their illness as long as they can- and when they show signs they are usually quite far along in their illness. This is why it is important to be able to recognise signs of illness, like you have done, and act quick with vet attention. I am not a vet, so I cannot give the best advice, but your guinea pig looks quite poorly. I think you need to see a vet as soon as possible - his eyes look quite sore and I am sure that you do not want your guinea pig to be in pain or suffering.

That wasn't this poster's guinea pig, it was someone else's. It got rather confusing!
