I went to the vets today to say thankyou, i took them a lovely potted chinese bamboo :)

I happened to ask, just how much did i spend on my little man over the years........................
well i'm i spent just over 8,500.00 AUS dollars :{
I had no idea i'd spent that much............he was worth every cent and more x)

Has anyone else got costs like this?

Thats £3,312.92 here. :o:o:o:o That is lots of money, but he was well worth it. x xoxo

Wow Glynis! Totally money well spent, you have to do it if you have animals! :)

All I have spent is £24 for mites and around £50 when Cuzzy was poorly. I kinda thought it was money down the drain when he died but at the end of the day he had to have that fighting chance. Can't believe its almost a year since we lost him. x

In the past month alone my vets bills have come to almost £500. I wouldn't like to even think about the total over the years. I consider every penny well spent, even when the outcome isn't good, because at least I know I tried. Sometimes all the money in the world can't save our little friends and thats the bit I find the most heartbreaking.

i know my rabbit cost us thousands of pounds, but he was worth every penny i've ever owned, just the same as all our pets.

my maxwell, my hamster who died at 4 months old because of many illnesses, cost me £250 in vets bills...i would've paid more too

You are all soooooooo right, yes we'd spend our last pound/dollar if we could save or help our little furries........
It's cause we're all so in love with them and would do anything and everything for them x)x)x)x)
Just remember that money i spent was just on Dukey rolleyesx)x)x)

i totally agree, i would spend any amount of money on my lovely boys.

I cannot remember what i have spent on others in the past, but on my two now I've only spent about £50 pounds, and thats only on Scruffy, nothing on Max.

I've spent about 300 Australian dollars on Pancake, 90 on Ringo and Charm together... wow! you spent alot, but like everyone else said, it was worth it.

I haven't spent anything on the guinea pigs yet (touch wood!) but one of my cats has cost me just under £1000 in the last year (luckily he's insured so I've got most of it back).

I can't really remember in figures how much my piggies cost me (or my dad actually lol) when it came to vet bills, but they were not cheap. I think it was about £75 or something like that when one of my piggies had to have her leg amputated.

Gosh Glynis, they ought to be buying you the plant!. Know what you all mean though, when you have a poorly piggie, you think vet first cost later. I think most of us here are the same. Your piggies are lucky to have you. x

I have had so many pets over the years so I dread to think what the total amount is!

But like you all say, it's totally worth it. Money is just money at the end of the day. You can't put a price on a life. I would work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week if I had to!

I have set up a savings account though which I put money into each month. I did think about insurance but thought savings would be a better idea.

*thud*

At the end of the day though it's not about the money, it's about the knowledge that you did everything you could to make sure he had a happy life.

I spent way over £500 just on Sunny when he was poorly and would have spent more...you just do, dont you?

Just think Glynis, you would have lost your little man a long while ago had it not been for your vet so it is money well spent :)
