Vet pet plans for pigs, any suggestions?

Hi do you mean like the plans vets offer sometimes for dogs and cats for their yearly vaccinations, flea and worming treatment? If so then I have never seen a vet offer a plan like this for piggies as they don't need any regular vaccinations and neither do they need worming or flea treatment.

There is one company that offers pet insurance though and that is exotics direct. For each medical condition you would pay an excess (£60 last time I checked) and then anything over that would be covered on your insurance. You need to be aware as well that they are unlikely to cover pre-existing conditions and I seem to recall someone saying they didn't cover dental problems though I don't know if that's still the case

I have a vet fund where I put aside money each month so that it is there when I need it. Back in May Christian needed a life saving operation and the only way I could afford it was from my vet fund otherwise the credit card would have been maxed out.

Yeah it was a similar kind of plan to cats and dogs, although they don't need worm treatment etc, I guessc I was looking for perhaps dental or mites when required. Alas... But putting money away month may be the best. I looked at exotic pet plan, but they quoted £25 a month for 2 piggies. Thanks for your reply xx

Yea I put money aside for when needed. Only once or twice have I actually thought having insurance would have saved me money. I have four piggies so £50 a month can get me quite far. It would be nice to see other insurers come on the market and make it more competitive
