I'll be taking both boys to the vet on Thursday and was wondering what people put their guinea pigs in too transport them? I was thinking getting a cat carrier but not sure on what size would be needed?

also I have to take them by bus do you think they'll be okay?

hi, a cat basket should be fine, might be an idear to put a cople of snuggle tube's in the basket so they
can shelter from the noise,
might be an idea to cover the basket, or people are lightly whant to have a look at what is in there.
and a cover macks it private !

If you do not have a guinea pig/rabbit carrier on hand the cat one should be fine. I'd put some fleece on the bottom and a small handful of grass hay to make the trip less scary for them. If there's a viewing hole or something I'd cover that as from my experience vet waiting rooms are full of curious dogs that might frighten the pigs and curious humans on the bus might try to take a look at what's in there. The bus might be a little noisy and stress the guinea pig but if you keep it private it should be fine. Good luck on taking your boys to the vet.

Good luck with your vet trip.

This is similar to my carrier, I bought it in Wilkinsons.

It has a removable base- window flaps &carry handle too.

The girls all cram into it for a vet visit or use it to be put out on the lawn with in the summer from their cage.
They snuggle up together but with the mesh it keeps them cool.

Its handy when I put it in the car too as I put the strap over the headrest &I know they're secure... I can also see them through the mesh window
On the side &check them.

My boys have a cat type carrier for car rides, vet trips etc. We moved house and they were in it for the 3 days it took to drive from one end of Australia to the other and they didn't seem to care. My piggies are pretty zen though.

I have a cat carrier and line it with blankets and some snacks. My pigs are pretty used to the car (we go back and forth to the cottage all summer, although that is the whole cage, so it's a little less stressful.) Sundae knows the carrier leads to the vet now and doesn't like going in, though, so maybe try to use it for benign outings too to prevent that association from forming!
