all vets near me are rubbish and i am at the best one believe it or not >:(

cookie has a uti and he gave me baytril (wont give septin because its not licensed for pigs), ive heard this wont work though? also he said only give her 0.1ml twice daily which isnt enough, and he wont give me more so il only got enough for 0.1ml twice daily :(

what i do?

which vets do you use? is it one with a few diff vets or just one?

you could always ask to speak to another vet.

am sorry you are going through this, maybe maryh's vet would help? perhaps go to a rescue or travel to another vet. sending you and cookie hugs and cuddles :smitten: and hoping you see a good vet soon :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: maybe someone knows of a good vet near you? girls send :-* :-* :-* thinking of you sending hugs, prayers and good vibes :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

a few different vets, but i dont like any of the others, one of them is off there head, loves experimenting :(

last week they took on another vet so on monday i have a 5pm appointment but I'm going to see if i can see her :-\

Hi Maisynpoppy,
0.1ml twice a day sounds OK - Roly had a uti and our vet told us to give him 0.2ml once a day so same dose, just all at once.
our vets won't use anything other than baytril either as the others aren't licensed - from our experience we've found them to be really good vets.

Hope Cookie gets better soon!

thanks katie, was yours 2.5%? can you remember?

thanks mary :) ive emailed maryh's vet :)

Hi Kelly
How old is Cookie? she is quite young isnt she?
Sunny is on baytril for a possible leg infection and that is 2.5% per ml x 5 and I am giving 0.2mls twice a day. He is 51/2 months old. Maybe your vet gave you less because Cookie is younger/smaller?

Can you get to Liverpool Kelly? Emma's vet seems great. Mine is ok but haven't had enough experience with them yet. Not sure they know all there is to know.

Hope Cookie is ok. :)

Just read your other thread about weighing Cookie, sorry I havent been on much the last fews days so didnt see it :-\
I think vet gave you a small dosage because she is so little, try not to stress out and do what you are doing. If she doesnt respond to the antibiotics, I am sure they will up the dosage or give you septrin, especially if Anne Taylor says its ok to do so :) (she is my vet too)

ok :) yeah she still weighs less that 500g, I'm trying another vet on monday she seems nice :smitten:

yeah louise i was thinking that but i want to see if this lady is good first because dont want to stress cookie out with a long drive and i will end up in Ireland :(

perhaps you'll see a wee lepruchaun if yee go to ireland! find his pot of gold. 2funny 2funny 2funny seriously though see how cookie responds to the treatment first and then make a decision as to whether you want to see another vet. sending hugs and cuddles to you and cookie :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: girls send :-* :-* :-*

good luck to cookie (hugs) to you both. I think UTI's can be treated with Baytril if needed. Hope you find a better vet though

how is she? Hope you manage to find a vet (((hugs))) :-* sending piggie kisses and cuddles :smitten:

shes ok, not brilliant but i guess we need to give baytril som time to work :-\
