Hi all,

Not sure if I'm worrying too much so thought I'd run it by you on here!:)

My gp Ralphie has hurt his eye, it's gone cloudy & it looks like there's a scratch underneath it so he's off to see the vet at 5.45 tonight. I was just wondering though whether I should take Choccie too as they live together (although he's fine) or will that distress them both rather than just taking Ralphie on his own? Sorry about this, I'm sure I probably worry far too much about them ")

Thanks Lynz x

Hi, I'm not sure what everyone else does on here but i always take a pair if i'm going to the vets for one! The poorly one will be happy for some support and the other one gets to go the vets and get used to the noises and smells without being prodded about! :))
I understand its stressfull so surely having a friend there would make it less stressfull? Hope your poorly piggie is better soon. xx

I would take a friend too. Good luck at the vets, it could be hay poke. Keep us posted. x

Thanks for your help, I'll defo take both of them then. Ralphie seems fine, he's still eating & running around as normal so hopefully it's nothing too major but I'll let you know later!

Thanks again....what would I do without you lot!

I have mother and daughter piggies who live together and are almost joined at the hip - I always take both when one needs a vet visit, it seems to keep them both calmer. Good luck with Ralphie, and let us know how you get on.

The one and only time I had to take Connie to the vet, I took Eliza too. The short car journey and visit didn't phase them because they just sat chatting to each other. Good luck

Hi, we're back from the vets and the vet says it looks like Ralphie's eye has been scratched as there's an indent in his cornea so we've got drops for the next week....that should be fun trying to get those in! :{

He's back next Tuesday unless it gets worse before then, so fingers crossed it'll heal up soon!

Thanks again for your help earlier.....I took them both and they were curled up fast asleep most of the time, bless them! :)

Good luck with giving the drops, but glad the actual vet visit itself went well - and do let us know how Ralphie's eye progresses.

Glad all went well ... eye problems are always a worry.

I also take the poorly pig's companion to the vet as well just for moral support and to keep them together.

Piggies seem to have really poor memories and sometimes even if they have been apart for only one hour, it is like they have never known each other! :)):)):))
