Well, I took the girls for their first vet visit today (just to check them out) and of course I was expecting the worst cause I'm a worrier :...

But they're in perfect health, pretty good considering they were rescued from a breeder and I'm so happy! Although Zelda managed to pee all over Penny's lovely white coat on the way over and made them look all horrible and mucky to the vet :red They've been giving me the stink-eye ever since!

Do any of you get irrationally worried about your pigs? I think I'm just an over protective mummy!

Glad everything went well!xx>>>
i had taken my 2 5week old boys to the vet last week. i Got them from a girl who seemed like she has taken care of her piggies but i needed to make sure they are in perfect health. they did wonderfully! I'm so glad i taken them..not so glad about the cost 185$$$$:{mallethead but the vet did spend an 1hr with us taking to me about them and checking them out. My bf almost fell over about the cost :...grrrr :(|)
i watch them all day to make sure they look ok sound ok eat ...he thinks I'm nuts rolleyes

Thank god my checkup was free, but even if it wasn't I would've taken them :) Its nice that they have people looking out for them I think!

I'm glad your guineas were ok too :(|)

awww happy for you that they both passed their little checkups x)x)

Oh gosh yeah i worry all the time! I know just about every wheek my girls make..... i know their body language very well now.... having had them both ill in the past 6mths you really get to know them :)

oh heck that's a lot of dollars! but i suppose the time is why? my initial visits at my vet are around the 75 dollars now i think.... i'm there so often it is usually a follow up visit!

I am a born worrier and worry terribly about my pigs - but I think it's because they're not very robust and can go down hill very quickly, compared to other pets I've had like large dogs.

I took Burt to the vet last night as on Saturday lunchtime he squeaked whilst he doing his business which he's never done before (it lasted about 30 seconds). I stayed the night downstairs and slept on the floor by his cage, hounding him every time he did a wee to see if he was OK! Last night the vet said 'he only did it for one day?' and when I said 'no, just one time on that day' he chuckled at me and told me it would only be a worry if it was persistent squeaking whilst toileting. Our vet is great though, he gave him a thorough check inside and out (eye opening!) so now I know all is well.

What's an hour of my life and £30 for a peaceful night's sleep?!
