Hi just foun some vetbed at home and I am going to give it a go for my guinea pigs. Do I need to put anything under the vetbed and how do I get on with the hay as it will just stick to the vetbed?

Layers of newspaper under the vet bed, change the paper daily. Hay in a hayrack or cardboard box etc yes it does get stuck in it and is a bit of a pain!

I have just put the vetbed in their cage. I have put newspaper under it and put the hay in a little box. It looks so tidy and I hope this will stop one of mine from snezzing!

i pout newspaper under it

i have a hi bac litter tray for the hay, layered with newspaper, carefresh and then hay

in my c&C, the upper level is the same with a hay area and a snuggle tunnel.

dont put hay directly on as its such a pain like others say to get it all off!

I got a new vet bed today also and I have put newspaper underneath and I can't believe how much cleaner their cage looks! I originally had newspaper and saw dust ontop with hay as their bedding and wow what a mess! For that reason alone I love the vet bed! Can you put it in through the washing machine!?

yes you can put it through the wash, we use vetbeds at work (vets) and they have to go through a very hot wash!

Hope you don't mind me tagging on, but I have a question about vetbed too. We have outdoor piggies who are in our little out house at the moment which is brick built. It doesn't have windows but I leave the door open most of the day and just push it too with a gap for air in the evening. I clean out the bed area every other day at the moment. I'm using newspaper to line it, followed by a layer of megazorb then a flattened layer of straw and then hay.

If I wanted to use vetbed for their sleeping area, what would they have to snuggle up to. I noticed that people are saying that hay is a nightmare to get off of it, and I put a load of hay in of an evening for them to sleep in. Would be interested to know peoples thoughts on this.

When mine were outside in the shed during winter, i coered them with old dust sheets, covers duvets at night to keep the warmth in too!

Thanks for that. Are snuggle cups those things you get from ebay? I am going to order one of those heat pad things.
