Hello,

I bought some vetbed for a new cage that I've bought for my girls but have read somewhere that it might be better to use it more of a lining and put fleece on top. Does anyone else agree with this or will the vetbed be ok on it's own? Do I need to line the cage with anything else, ie newspaper etc? They haven't tried the vetbed yet so I don't know what their thoughts on it are :))
Also, will I still need to put in some soft bedding, ie Carefresh in their igloos/hidey holes? And is there anything better than Carefresh as it goes quickly and is quite an expensive regular cost. I don't like sawdust because it can sometimes make them sneeze.
p.s. after reading through a lot of posts, I hope all of our piggies realise how lucky they are with such dedicated owners/slaves (mine fail to show it still, but I'm basing that on the fact they're still nervous with the new-ish surroundings) ;)

I don't see why you'd have to put fleece on top, it should be fine on its own :)

I use both, it means I only change the fleece every two days and the vet bed 3 times over 2 weeks. Saves me time. That's the only reason... and I find it doesn't smell as much. that's just me though.
