Does anybody have a rough idea how much it costs to have a check up at the vets at PAH?

A visit to my normal vet is £12 plus any medication. Just as a rough guide.

is it called companion care?

i use that vets, mine is £16 for a consultation, but it could vary on areas, as most vets seem a bit more expensive near me than what some people pay. I'm not sure,but i think we got our first consultation free

I think my vet charges about £14

First is £18.50 or £19 at my pah vets, then £13, then £10, well worth it with my vet.

I think my vets is quite reasonable, I only paid £10 consultation fee and then however much for treatment which last time was about £3 per guinea pig

Why take them to PAH? Your local vets will probably do the same and just be as good...

Anyway my local vet costs £12 for a check up.

£12.50 for first consultation at my vets. that seems pretty reasonable. And they didnt charge me once when i took my hammy in cuz he was going bald! (they said it was just an age thing.)
