Hi folks. I've done a bit of research and think Vicks VapoRub may be worth a try to possibly help make my allergy pig a little more comfortable.

My question is, where on the piggie is best to apply it, and how much would you suggest using?

(Note: My allergy pig has not responded to many different treatments tried and is more distressed by injections and syringing treatments than she is by the symptoms. She receives regular check-ups with her vet to monitor her and is otherwise fit and well... just has noisy snuffly breathing most of the time. Just thought, if it worked, that Vicks may offer her a bit of relief).

I don't know that I'd want to us Vicks to be honest, it's strong stuff for us humans!
What is your piggy allergic to?
I have one who struggles with hay even if it doesn't appear dusty to me. I changed to dust free hay which is fantastic and he doesn't have any problems now. Before I'd changed hay I tried Homeopet Nose Relief and that was brilliant as well. It would be worth a try if you haven't already.

Hay allergy.

And I've used dust free hay (from dustfreehay.co.uk) for a few years now and it's improved things, but still not solved the issues.

I was thinking of Vicks VapoRub to be honest, because I've read many piggie owners (on here and on Facebook) who use it for the allergy pigs... I just didn't know where to apply.

What is Homeopet Nose Relief?

http://www.homeopet.com/noserelief.html this is an American website but if you google it there's lots of places you can get it from, it's around £6 or £7 for a 15ml bottle which lasts ages.
Put 2 drops on a piece of veg each day not in the water as it suggests. It worked wonders for George. Now he's on Dust Free Hay he doesn't need it as the change was enough for him but with a more severe case it should help.
