Following on from the "What do your guineas do that you think is amazing" thread in GP Chat, I managed to get a video of Dexter and his girls doing their special trick - helping themselves to flaked peas. It always goes the same:

I open the cage door.
They walk in single file to the shelves.
They crowd around the box of flaked peas.
One pig (usually Dexter) pulls the box off the shelf.
They all dive into the flaked peas.

It's routine, plays out the same every time!

Lighting is rubbish but it's good enough to see. Dexter is the black and cream pig who actually deals with the box. :)

What a clever and practised lot! :)):)):))

My blind Mischief figured out how to topple a hay bag and they sniff out the opening and crawl in - it was most fascinating to watch her go to work while I was cleaning out the cage.

he he what clever little piggies. I love how excited they all sound it made me chuckle

That is so funny! They were most definately on a mission, they had the target in site and were off! Great team work. :(|)

How quick was that, they knew exactly where they were going, Amazing! haha

Thanks for the comments, they are certainly practiced and have their mission in mind as soon as their door is opened, it always gets me how they can get it off the shelf though.

But I must confess that I am a terrible, terrible Mummy....

Today I moved the flaked peas. To a place they can't get them.

Poor piggies, they're going to be utterly baffled when they next come out.
