I can upload videos to YouTube, but I can't watch them, so I can't tell you if this one works or not. But I gave Red a bit of watermelon rind and made a small video of him trying it out. The lighting is not so good, but you can still see what is going on. If you are able to view it, I know you will like it!

Yes, I could see it - how delightful. I love the way he grabbed it and carried it to where he wanted to eat it.

'Mmmmm...mine mine!'

Typical guinea pig behaviour. My girls will pick up and carry food too, but they carry it back into the sleeping area where there are often other piggies. Then you get squabbling!

Aww, he's so cute! How old is he? Bet he'd love a little baby boar to keep him company. :)
x

I don't know exactly, but assuming the woman from whom I rescued him knew what she was talking about, he's about 4.5 months old. It's hard to say, though, because he was so small when I got him, and that might have been due to starvation. Judging by his boar bits, 4.5 months is probably about right.

Awwww he's gorgeous I love watching everyone's video's on here.

He loved that watermelon! very cute x)

Today I gave him a portion of rind with the watermelon still on; he loves that, too. It was too heavy for him to carry, but he managed to get it out of the dish, He dropped it beside the dish and started eating it there. So far it turns out he likes sweet things - he will eat the sweet, young grasses before he eats the grasses without so much sweetness. He likes sweet apples but won't eat the tart ones. He likes corn but won't eat broccoli. Tomorrow is 40 days that I have had him at my house. He gets weighed and photographed alongside the computer mouse.

p.s. I went out and bought a new computer so that I can see the videos of other forum guinea pigs! Must be important if I go out and spend nearly $900 (552.183 GBP, 635.372 EUR, 855.811 AUD, 879.262 CAD) to watch guinea pigs. I haven't set it up yet, but will do so soon (I hope).
