Yes, of course. I use them regularly for cleaning/disinfecting and if necessary dealing with cleaning very mucky bum ends.

Yes, but some guinea pigs (Truffle I'm looking at you) regard them as a great delicacy and will actually start eating them. I couldn't find my gloves (I wear one on my right hand) and then realised I'd left it draped on Truffle's cage side. I had to grab it and we had a brief tug of war, then I said let go in a slightly panicky way and out it popped. So now I keep the box where he can't get it just in case
