I went to PAH today to tell them about the loss of Choc. She said how sorry she was and said that they haven't had anyone else back saying that there was anything wrong with the rest of the litter. Said it was just bad luck.
I told her what had happened and she said that "we only sell healthy pets". I thought "yeah right". I said to her that the others better be checked before they go to new homes. I was getting quite a cue behind me, so they were hearing everything i was saying.

She said that i could pick another piggy or get a refund for the one that sadly passed away. I said i dont want another one as i dont want the same thing to happen again. So she gave me a refund for the piggy we sadly lost. I'm going to use that money to buy a nice rose and plant it where we have buried Choc

The other thing was that when i was walking into the pet store a young girl was carrying a box which probably had a piggy inside. I thought "i hope that piggy is ok and that girl isn't going to be heartbroken in weeks or months to come"

I wont be getting another pet from there again.

Awww I'm sorry to hear about Choc :(
But good for you for confronting PAH. Admittedly I got my Isiah from there but this was before I know anything about how bad they are. I will never buy a pet from there again.
I have heard loads of stories on here about piggies dying a few weeks after coming from PAH. Thankfully Isiah was fine - he was actually from the adoption section as he had been poorly but the instore vets had made him better before selling him.
I'm sure Rosie is looking after Choc for you :)

well done for telling them, maybe (if you havent already) you could add your story to Claireloves thread about pah inspection?

The planting of a rose sounds like a lovely idea xx

I agree with Carrot and Parsnip. I think the rose plant is a lovely thing to do for Choc. Well done for going back to them.

:{:{grrrrgrrrr Mean people. They should not sell animals that they can't take care of. makes me angrey

I feel your pain as well after sadly losing Gladys a P@H pig.

When I went in she completely contradicted herself and told me that all of their animals are vet checked. I mentioned that my vet told me Gladys had spurs forming and she replied that they can't open their mouths wide enough to check their teeth so they wouldn't know that.

I pointed out that a vet should be able to do this and would be able to tell if the animal in question had spurs, then she claimed that it's not their fault if one or two slip through the net.

I got a young guinea pig from a rescue once.. she lived six months then one morning I found her dead.. There are no guarantee's in life that an animal will live a full life, they might have a hidden condition that even the most savvy person might not pick up..
