Due to an influx of new piggies, mostly boys, at Suzy's rescue, 2 of her resident boars have come on vacation to our house.
These boys live next door to each other at the rescue and although they won't tolerate a shared cage, they are clearly bonded and enjoy each others company. They are currently staying on the bottom deck of my smaller pen which I have divided down the middle so each has his own space but can clearly see the other. They like to sit next to the barrier, leaning against each other and will often sleep touching noses through the grid.

This old boy is called Dyson and is affectionately known as the Pocket Rottweilor as he is very pig aggressive.

He is quite shy but does enjoy a veggie treat during lap time and is very interested in the girlie noises that often fill our living room!

This fine lad is called Daddy Pig or the Pocket Pitbull. He is also unhappy with other piggies in his space, but misses Dyson when he is not in his cage next door. Daddy Pig is not shy and will gnaw at the bars if he thinks I'm too tardy bringing the breakfast. He also enjoys lap time and in this pic had just heard our large group of girls calling because they thought he was getting veggies!

We don't know how long they will be staying but they are welcome for as long as it takes. It's a good job they are boys otherwise Suzy would have a fight on her hands to get them back!

Awwww! So lovely to see new pigtures of the boys! I just love their names :)) it's amazing that Suzy has managed to make it work for these two boys, she is such a clever lady! :)

Lovely boys! I bet you won't want to give them back to Suzy when the time comes

Whee hope that Dyson and Daddy Pig find their forever homes soon xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>

They have their forever home here with me - apart from this very rare holiday with fosterers.

DaddyPig has a perennial sebaceous cyst on the side of his head which needs dealing with weekly to prevent it becoming infected or uncomfortable, that together with his delightful habit of biting people when he gets it done, also bites if he gets picked up more than once a day means that he stays. Thankfully after 2 years of me squeezing his head he has finally accepted and stopped biting me. He has got to know the fosterers well as they also come over every week to help clean out and he feels very comfortable with them too.

Dyson has severe psychological baggage from his time living in a group of 4 adult males left to fight it out for 3 years. He was top pig but it does mean that he is extremely pig aggressive. Physically he has scars and he also has a flare up of fungal problems occasionally, again a legacy of his neglect.

He and Dyson are very bonded even though they live with a divide. I have tried to get them to live together but they both want to kill any other pig, including each other, that dares be in their space. They are miserable when separated but very content when living side by side.

They are quirky pigs but I adore them.

Suzy x

That's a great lone pig/bonded pig solution. Very clever :)

I'm so glad they both fund tolerance and friendship after such rotten starts in life.

Yay for the boys. x
