I've been looking at vitakraft treats and some of these contain alfafa (like hay isn't it), seeing that I can't get hay, would this be better than a guinea pig not getting any hay what so ever? Mind you I still have to visit the riding stables yet, if I was to get hay from riding stables it would be full of lice and mites won't it? I also thought about those hay bells you can get. I asked some people on ebay, and they said they wouldn't post hay to Turkey. Apart from one company selling timothy hay, and they wanted 30 pounds to post to here, that is not right!

Gosh - no hay for guinea pigs in turkey :o :(

Hay bells etc and other treats will be ok for them as i think its better than nothing :-\

Good Luck in finding some hay - It might not be full on mites or lice for your guinea pigs as only some hay make the guinea pigs have lice O0

Oh my god, no hay in turkey...

What do horses have out there.....they are meant to have hay

Instead of searching everywhere on ebay try doing an advanced search and only type in your post code then places will come up that arent too far away from you which will be cheaper on postage ;)

Horses must have hay so try the stables. :)

I would say if you can't get hay then don't get a guinea pig. Hay makes up 80% of their diet it is vital they have it and I don't think treats will sustain them. :(

Good luck!

I dont think shehas any guinea pigs yet but theres one in a pet shop thats in a bad way :)

i think piggys arent meant to have a lot of alfafa, and alfalfa treats are bad

if i remember correctly ?

Alfalfa once a week as a treat, hay the rest of the time. I agree without hay the piggy will not have enough bulk/roughage so will suffer to poop and good knows what. Its like us eating no roughage. Occhhh. I think any hay will be fine, just make sure you treat your pig for mites/lice and worm them too. Surly you get that in Turkey for you cats/dogs!
