Was wondering if anyone gives their piggies a vitamin c supplement or other vitamin supplement? I keep seeing them in the petshop, and I know that the food and veges have vitamin c but I wasn't sure if I should also give the supplement.

Please don't use the pet shop supplement, especially not the ones that you add to your water. Guinea pigs drink noticeably less and you cannot control the intake.

With a balanced diet like we recommend you do not need to add any vitamin (especially as most guinea pig pellets are also enriched with vitamin C), but it is advisable for any ill or frail guinea pig. Long term overdosing especially in young guinea pigs can ironically lead to scurve (deficiency issues) later in life.
