my piggies are now 16 weeks old, I feel them on an array of veggies, burgess excel oregano and blackcurrent nuggets and an unlimited amount of Timothy Alfalfa king hay. I don't use the Vit c drops in their water as was advised not to. Just wobdered if I needed to introduce more Vit c in to their diet and if so how do I do it?
Thankyou

Have a look at our diet recommendations and veg lists; they include the need for regular vitamin C in form of a daily slice of pepper and a sprig of coriander. Please be also aware that pellets are vitamin C enriched, so you need to take all that into considerations.

If you want to feed additional vitamin C, then I would go for Oxbow products. While it is sensible to make sure that your guinea pigs have plenty of vitamin C in their diet, long term overdosing, especially of young guinea pigs, can ironically lead to scurvy developing if the level drops for some reason during illness etc. It is a very careful balance you have to strike.

Oh fab! thank you! they get all that anyway on a daily basis. Didn't want to over dose as i knew this can cause problems. Thank you once again!

I would recommend to have extra vitamin C at home, and just give it whenever you have got an ill piggy, as the need for vitamin C is increased then.
