Vitamin C

Please can someone suggest to get vitamin c tablets for guinea pigs.oxbow have stopped doing there tablets,mine do not like the hay tablets.thanks.

I stopped giving my guineas vit C when Oxbow changed to the hay ones . My guinea pigs eat bell peppers and I am happy they get enough Vit C in their diet .

You can give your guinea pigs daily vitamin C in their diet (especially sweet pepper and a 1 in slice of spring greens). You can switch to additionally give human vitamin C tablets to boost the immune system in case of an acute illness (1/8 or 1/4 tablet depending on how serious it is).

hi,Thanks for reply,ive ten piggies in total.most of mine get vitamin c through there greens.got toby who is a year old with an eye injury.he has been seen by vet,given fusidin eye ointment,just wanted to increase his vitamin c intake for a week.i will give half of a human vitamin c tablet,50mgs.thanks Wiebke for the advice.
