Hi everyone,
I currently give my girls child life liquid vitamin c , i purchase from amazon. What i was wondering was can i get it cheaper else where or does anyone recommend a different one .?

Mine love yellow, red and green but red seems to be the favourite (which is a tad annoying because yellow are my family’s favourite, so red ones are bought for piggy use only!)

We prefer red ones but end up eating all the yellow ones when we buy a mixed bag because my piggies are fussy spoiled divas who always get first pick of the veg!

Hi!

I completely agree with @Claire W . No extra vitamin C is necessary with a balanced long term diet for health guinea pigs.

Please have a careful read of our diet guide, which is talking you through all aspects and includes a sample diet. Any colour of pepper will do as long as you also offer fresh herbs and spring green strips. ;)

Please also keep in mind that by keeping your guinea pigs on too high a long term level of vitamin C they are in fact much more likely to develop scurvy (vitamin C deficiency ) as soon as their vitamin C level drops in illness or for some other reason than a guinea pig without extra supplements.

It is much better to give ill piggies a short 2-3 weeks booster course instead whenever it is actually needed and doing any good! ;)

Just to add that whilst I agree with everyone else about a normal healthy guinea pig on a balanced diet not needing additional Vit C. I do always give it to any of my piggies who are stressed or unwell.
But that is the only time I use it.
