Hey ;D

Does anyone know how old you have to be to volunteer at rescues? I really want to, but I already know I'll be too young :P

lolseh says SSPCA is 14, but we don't have that here.. I wonder if most other places are 14? ( think RSPCA has something to do with them though?)

Any ideas?

Jane

Hi Jane,
I'd call the rescues you are interested in and have a chat with them about this. I think age restrictions apply for insurance reasons mainly?
Good luck and good for you for thinking about helping out :)

Hi jane have you tried Thornberry? They used to be always advertising for staff at one point. :)

:) I agree with Cavykind about insurance. Something we have to be aware of whatever your age. The only volunteers I take are Duke of Edingburgh students, but had an RSPCA education person around about that before I did it...

I might try them, will see if they've got a website and any info on it first, I think I'm too young for almost everywhere though :P Thornberry always have a small box in the Advertiser (local newspaper) about doggies that have been there for ages and what happened to them. :'(
