I was in a car accident yesterday, and although I was lucky to escape with just concussion and feeling a little battered and bruised, it has made me realise that I haven't really got a support network to help me.

Because of the nature of the piggies I take on at the Sanctuary, it isn't easy to just hand them over to someone else in a time of crisis. Therefore I am looking for people who could come and help, either on a regular or occasional basis, with things like clean out, but also to learn about syringe feeding, medicating and the individual needs of the various piggies.

Blimey Debbie - I hope you're okay and the concussion passes quickly. Huge hugs from all here.

I was on the way to vets with a very poorly piggie too. He's doing ok at the moment thank goodness. I have the headache from hell, and some bruising to my face, but it's my back, shoulders and neck that are really painful today. Have appointment at the docs at 9.50.

Oh lovey! I am so sorry to hear about the accident, i wish i was next door i would be along like a shot to do whatever i could. Try if you can to take it easy and rest. I hope you feel better soon. Big Hugs x

Oh no, hope you can have some good painkillers. The shock can really knock you as well (as I know from the blender incident!) so hope you can rest a bit. Wish I was nearer to help with piggy duties.

Oh Debbie what a shock
If only I wasn't 100 miles away!

I know you have piggies to attend to but try not to over stretch yourself, hopefully you'll be inundated with an army of piggy helpers very soon.
X

Oh no, so sorry to hear this :(
Sending lots of healing vibes Debbie and am certain you'll have many volunteers stepping in to help with your wonderful Sanctuary.
Wish I was closer, being able to do something like this would be such a wonderful and invaluable experience x>>

I know I'm far away Debbie but if there's anything I can do to help, just let me know. How did you get on at the docs? x

Oh Debbie, I'm so sorry to hear about what's happened. I hope you are ok. I wish I was closer so I could come and help you! xx

What a shock. I hope you are ok. If I was closer then I would definitely help. Sending pixel hugs your way and wishing you a speedy recovery.

I'd love to help...but I'm a good 70 miles away and I'm about to ship off to help my mother.

Really sorry.

Hope you can get some help. Just a thought - wonder if it's worth looking at the piggy bank members map?

Hope you're feeling ok very soon.
Very best.

Oh Debbie how awful, I know how much a car accident can shake you up. Wish I could offer my help but sadly am too far away. Hope you and the poorly piggie are feeling better soon. x

So sorry to hear about the accident, Debbie, and hope you'll soon be fully recovered. I'm another who wishes they could help, but can't. :(

Oh dear I am sorry to hear that :(

I'm at Simon's Monday as you know & if Ziggy has to have an op I will be twiddling my thumbs in Morrisons' coffee shop all afternoon again until I can collect her.

A few light piggy duties may take my mind off things rolleyes

I can certainly keep you occupied! We could also pop down the road to the pub for lunch. We will have a very handsome little man with us too! My gorgeous Grandson, Nathan!

If I had transport I would gladly help. May have a look at buses and see if it would be possible to pop by every now and then to help out. Hope you're ok after the accident. Take care of yourself!

Try to get to a chiropractor too if you can. I have permanent whiplash problems, and I was told if I had seen a chiropractor straightaway, they would have been reduced.

Hope you feel better soon.

Hopefully some appropriate treatment is going to be sorted for me very soon. Each day I feel pain in a different place. I guess it will take a while for everything to become apparent.

Only just seen this thread :( Debbie, I hope you are ok x

Oh Debbie how horrible. I hate driving my guineas around because people don't understand why you don't zoom off and get really impatient!

I've been lucky enough to escape 2 accidents unharmed so I'm sorry I can't give any juicy advise about feeling better, but I know eating a nice big dinner of your favourite noms and getting plenty of sleep is the first step!

I'd also suggest those microwaveable bean bags for your neck and shoudlers. The weight and heat can help alot where hot handed gentle yet manly massages cant be made available.

Very sorry I'm not able to lend a hand, sometimes people's time is all you can ever ask for these days! If there is anything that those of us further a-field can still do for you let us know!

x

I am too far away to be of any help but just wanted to say hope you're feeling better soon and that the little pig who was in the car is doing ok still too.

Sorry you are hurt and I hope you feel better soon. I wish I were closer but sadly am too far away to help. If there is anything I can do remotely please let me know.
