hi all,

i currently feed my rescue piggies and my own on wagg optimum but have noticed the pellets are getting very small now and are small enough to get stuck in a piggies nosteral.

i have e-mailed wagg and they have asked me to send a sample which i have done.

my question is if anyone else uses this food and if they have noticed the same as i am due to go back to the wholesaler and if this is the new size of pellet i will be changing my food over to burgess but if it is just a bad batch i have had then i would stay with wagg. ?/

Hi Tracy
I feed mine on wagg as Noodles always prefers the smaller nuggets to those massive half moon shapes that Burgess do - saying that the last 2 bags I have bought are much smaller than they used to be .

I bought some of this and was very surprised at how small it was compared to the Pets at Home nuggets I had them on before. I've never bought it before, though, so I can't say if it's smaller than usual. It never occurred to me that it might be dangerous -- I can't see why it would be. The diameter is still larger than say, a piece of hay. I can't see how mine would get it up their nostrils unless they were REALLY ramming their faces into the bowl with some force! Do let us know if you get a response from Wagg though -- I'd be curious to see what they say.

i have had a reply from wagg (harringtons and they have admitted the sample of pellets i sent to them was under the acceptable size. they are supposed to be a minimum of 8mm in size. They have very kindly refunded me the cost of a 10kg bag and also sent me 3 x vouchers for money off my next bags.

keep in mind that most vitamins dissolve over 3 months. So if you keep 10kg bags long time it can be not so healthy very soon.Sad that minimum bag is 2kg.
