what are your thoughts on the wagg guinea pig pellets? i’m not too keen on them as they are full of wheat/grains ☹

I think they are one of the cheaper pellets and there are probably better out there. of course some other versions can be expensive, and sometimes cost plays a big factor in choice.
Have you seen the pellet chart? It’s very helpful.

yes i have, it’s very useful, i only buy the wagg as it is the best i can get in my area, the only other options are country value and muesli and i hate both 😫

I really wouldn’t worry, if that’s the pellets you can get it’s still better that muesli.
And honestly, I fed wagg for years when it was my only option and my piggies lived till 7 years.
I give different now because I have more options, but don’t beat yourself up over giving wagg pellets. Just make sure you limit them and give them lots of nice hay.

What's wrong with country value? I thought it was made by burgess and burgess are supposed to be good?

nope, country value is absolute rubbish- full of wheat, mollases, lucerne, artificial colours and flavours

Which others would you recommend then that arent ridiculously expensive?
Check out the comparison chart as it gives you an idea of what’s on offer and prices.
I use grain free science selective, I think I pay about £4.50 a bag and one bag lasts one month exactly for two boys. So I think that’s quite affordable.

Those are like £7 a bag in all the pet shops near me. My choice is either really expensive pellets, or the cheapest pellets. Nowhere near me seems to stock an in between option

Oh wow! That is very high.
Is on line an option? I do an order of food, hay etc every few months to get best deals.
If wagg is what you can get, it will be fine
