hi i was just wanting to know if any 1 has walked thier gunniepig on A LEASH i was reading sumthin on the net and some1 says they walk thier gunniepigs on a leash ? ? ? ?

I think its just crazy. I have seen the leash for sale in shops and they have one's for rabbits. I have seen the odd little girl walking the rabbit about the garden but never seen a guinea pig on one yet. xx

Leashes are dangerous and can seriously injure a guinea pig or worse. They can walk themselves they don't need us slaves to help them with exercise. :)

Ditto :)
Leads for guineas or rabbits are a bad idea and can be dangerous.

A guinea pig can get exercise in an outdoor run those leads you have seen for sale are just a gimmick.

I think it's cruel. I walked past someone who had a piggie on a lead. I went in my sly voice 'I believe it's cruel to walk a guinea pig, I'd hate to be the owner who walk their guinea pigs.. So immature and Stupid.'

they now even have pet stroller for small dogs and cats for sale in P@H. its all to weird. x

Guineapigs HATE those leads ! A friend of mine, a few years ago, 'kindly' bought me one of those guineapig harnesses and I felt obliged to give it a try. (knowing that is was a pretty daft idea, but she was stood there). The guineapig went mental when it was in the harness and leash, it desperatley tried to leap about to get it off and dashed in random directions..when it got to the end of the length of the lead it jerked wildly to a halt. Guineapigs walk where they want to walk, they aren't suited to being 'taken' places like a dog, they don't need the exerscise anyway as they 'walk' themselves. The most you might achieve is having the guineapig 'walk you', it'll go where ever it wants and you will follow on the end of the leash, the worst you will end up doing is - god forbid - dragging it along and hurting it.
