Very sadly one of my girls passed away last week, the vet thinks she had a stroke. I found her alive but unable to get up and she died in my arms as I ran through the vet's door.

So I have a 2yo girl left on her own now and am keen to get her a companion. I want to avoid the big pet shop so if anyone can recommend any rescues/private sellers or has a suitable guinea pig it would be appreciated.

I have a nice 4ft hutch for summer, an indoor cage and also a big run for when the weather is nicer. Thanks

It pays to find a rescue that allows you to take your girl for some piggy dating, so she can make her own choice of who she clicks with. I have done that twice before I had the possibility to start a big group and both times it was a great success with a very loving relationship resulting, once between two three year old sows and one with an older sow and a neutered boar.
