I have two lil boys already that I love oh so much and I LOVE to spoil. There is a small animal rescue 2 1/2 hours away from me who have two adorable male Guineas. I have an empty Guinea pig habitat and a huge c and c cage for my two furbabies. My Dad is going to that city within a month. If I can get these two, how hard will it be to introduce them to my current males? I'm a teenager who has had guineas since may and I love them sooooo much and I have done a LOOOOOOT of research about them. Do you think this is something I should/could take on? Please leave advice.

If you are planning to introduce a bonded pair of males to another bonded pair of males...don’t.

4 males are unlikely to live in harmony together unless you have an extreme amount of space (think of at least an entire room here). Multiple boars only tend to work out as part of very large boar herds.

But...you could still place the second cage in the same room / near the others and the two seperate pairs could see one another without touching.

If you place them all in a cage together not only do you risk upsetting current bonds but you may then end up with 4 pigs who have to be all kept solo and won’t re-pair with any of the options available.

The only groups where adding more is possible is.

1) 1 neutered male with as many females as you want.
2) A group of all females with only more females added.

Boys do not do well with more than 1 male friend. So two is the recommendation and no ladies in the group if there are 2 guys.

You can have two more boars, provided that you can split your habitat and still have plenty of space for two pairs. What is a straight forward recipe for disaster is creating a boar quartet, especially with young boars in the equation. In my long term experience on this forum you are most likely to end up with one working pair and two singles, but we have had cases where people have ended up with four single boars that would not go back with any of the others. If you end up with two working pairs, count yourself lucky! Working quartets are VERY rare unless you have old boars whose testosterone has long fizzled out or you are dealing with a disabled/carer pig scenario, which has entirely different dynamics.
