Hi,

I have two lovely boars, Bob and Brian. They are brothers but Brian is twice the size of Bob and sure does let him know it. We had fights which drew a little blood and since then I have kept them serparated. They have two 5x3 outdoor runs in long grass - idyllic! The only issue is I think they are lonely. I keep them next to each other so they can chat through the bars. Bob has got to the point where he doesn’t come out of his hides house much, but Brian is happy to stroll around and loves a fuss.

I really want to get them a companion each so they can snuggle & play - space isn’t really an issue as they have a huge grassy area dedicated to them. At night they go into a large hutch in a garage.

Can anyone recommend me the best companion combination? I would imagine 2 neutered females would be very hard to find? Will they accept younger males? Again, Bob is very submissive and sweet, possibly the runt, so I don’t forsee any issues with him. Brian is a little more spunky & always started the fight. They are 6 months old.

Thank you!

@Sophiekate There isn't a combination that can be guaranteed to work, as pigs have different personalities.

You could try to find a rescue that offees boar dating so your boys can chose their own friends.

Or you could get them both neutered and find them a girlfriend each.

At that young age you could have them neutered which will give you more options in finding female friends
