Warming up to making a new herd: positive signs!

Seeing some lovely piggy interactions through the bars today, countdown to big herd bonding next week when 5 plus 2 will hopefully make a big extended family!
I think bereaved old lady Clover really wants this to happen...

Does anyone else think this looks promising?
 
I really hope so, it would be lovely to have such a big herd like that, such fun watching them all interact x

I really couldn’t say if it will work out, it looks promising 🤞

It is notoriously difficult to distinguish territorial behaviours from friendly ones but these look the normal Husboar and Top sow checkouts to me that happen with every meeting; only the bonding will tell what is what.
 
Paws crossed for bonding! Loving all the political meetings between the bars 😂

Yes of course after the disaster with Tallulah where 5 minutes in we had 2 bleeding pigs at the emergency vet... you never know!
Clover is certainly enjoying herself though, she's more interested in this than she has been in anything else since Jezzy died... and there is no teeth chattering or lunging or fur fluffed up, sniffing each other and hay eating seem to be the main events :)

Even meeting new piggies through the bars has often helped to snap one of my bereaved piggies out of acute grieving.

I am keeping my fingers very firmly crossed for yours!
 
I’ve given up predicting piggy shenanigans. But what I will say, is that every pig looks to have been engaged in checking out the neighbours, so if nothing else, they’ve all had a bit of a distraction and a change of scenery. I’m just hoping that they all play nicely on 29th
 
I have it all planned, going to pop Clover and Theo in with Luna and Lavender first because ultimately its up to boss lady Clover if there will be a possibility of acceptance but Theo is a kind and friendly boar who is very good at peace making and diffusing tension- then if that initial intro looks ok add in Blod who always reserves judgement until she sees what Clover does- then finally Piggle who will start a fight with Lavender instantly, plus Puggle who will instantly take sides with anyone who isnt her lifelong arch-rival pesky sister-cousin Piggle!
Piggle and Puggle would squabble with each other even if faced with an eagle or a jaguar I imagine lol... so they sort of cancel each other out... and Blod out ranks Piggle too just because Clover likes her best...
Adding all 5 at once could spook Lavender I think, she's bossy but skittish and... extremely large, and quite clumsy but very fast- a spooked overwhelmed Lavender could be misinterpreted as a big lilac threat...!
Piggy Daddy calls Lavender "the big purple one" like the Quality Street chocs they started making in giant size lol :)

These big furry piggy personalities make global political negotiations look easy by comparison dont they...!

How exciting, really hope it all works out and then only two poopy cages to clean and wash too, always a bonus! :D
Will be crossing everything for you and the gorgeous bubs on the 29th! x
