I've have a three storey shop bought cage for a few years and I really liked it. Recently I had a bit of a fright when I went into the piggies one morning and the ramp had broken and fallen. Leaving a big hole in the middle floor. My piggies could have been injured by falling through the hole or left stuck on the bottom floor. Luckily I was able to find something to cover the hole but they are restricted to only two floors. I thought I just warn anyone who had cages similar just to check every now and again to make sure you ramps are safe. I'll put in some pictures tomorrow if I remember.

Yep , I can only share the concern .
The ramp that my hutch came was a bit shocking for multiple reasons .
First of all it was very slippery , the piggies were scared as they were sliding the moment they started to climb . So attached fleece to it.
Secondly , it was way too steep , I decided to extend it by attaching an extra piece of wood at the end and secured it with screws and a metal plate/brace at the bottom.
Lastly , and this is were I share the OP concerns , the ramp was not secured at the top were it connects on the top floor. It was literally held in place by a small piece of wood screwed to the bottom floor.
To correct that I simply bought a corner brace and screwed it at the bottom of the top floor .

But yeah , very poor job indeed , which needed corrections /adjustments .

Yes mine is secured with only a piece of wood which came off. I think I'm gonna build a C&c cage during the winter cause I know that will be safe.

I modified a friends ramp in the past by taking one of those small brown wood bendy bridges with pieces the same width as the ramp and pulling it apart. I then glued (with none toxic wood glue) each perfectly sized "twig" to groves in her flat wooden ramp. Worked well and her hutch piggies run merrily up and down it no longer sliding.

So glad your fluffy potatoes were unharmed
